Justine Bourgeus, Hannes De Maeyer & Ruben De Gheselle are nominated for the Ensor Awards!

THREE TALENTS NOMINATED FOR BEST MUSIC @ THIS YEAR'S ENSOR AWARDS!

We’re proud to share that Justine Bourgeus, Hannes De Maeyer and Ruben De Gheselle have been nominated for Best Music at the Ensors 2026.
Bourgeus and De Maeyer are nominated for their score for This Is Not a Murder Mystery, while De Gheselle is recognized for his work on Young Hearts.

Ensor Academy members can vote here until today 27 January, with the winners announced at the Ensors Awards on 7 February 2026.

Earlier this year, Ruben De Gheselle was already honored as World Soundtrack Awards 2025 – Belgian Film Composer of the Year, praised for his delicate, intimate and minimalist scores for Young Hearts (directed by Anthony Schatteman) and the documentary There Was, There Was Not.

In reviews of This Is Not a Murder Mystery critics have specifically praised the score by Justine Bourgeus and Hannes De Maeyer, noting that it "elevates the series' original concept to an even higher level, with an idiosyncratic orchestral soundtrack and a theme that truly lingers."
