Natasha Pirard

Natasha Pirard is a Belgian experimental electronic musician and film composer working at the intersection of analogue synthesis, tape manipulation, acoustic instrumentation, and voice. Her music combines slowly evolving textures with recurring motifs and subtle emotional shifts, creating immersive sonic landscapes that move between intimacy and abstraction.

Originally trained in Musicology at Ghent University, Pirard developed an approach to composition that balances structural awareness with intuitive experimentation. Her work draws inspiration from minimalist composers such as Steve Reich, the genre-defying sound worlds of Mica Levi, and the pioneering women of electronic music.

Alongside her solo practice, Pirard has increasingly focused on film scoring. In 2024 she began working with Belgian director Leni Huyghe on the score for Real Faces, Huyghe’s debut feature film, composed together with Loïc Marszalek. The film premiered at SXSW in 2025. That same year she composed the score for La buena hija, the first feature by director Julia La Paz, which premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), and contributed original music to Julia Rogowska's dystopian melodrama The Time That Never Came.

In parallel with her film work, Pirard maintains an active recording practice. She has released two albums through the Ghent-based label DEEWEE, founded by Soulwax (2manydjs). Her debut album Dream Cycles (2024) introduced her distinctive blend of analogue electronics and looping structures, followed by Fernande, Cécile (2025), further expanding her exploration of voice, texture, and slowly shifting musical forms.
